Creative people have a tough life. Even after having the skills and potential to make a tremendous impact, the odds are against us. If you are reading this article you are one of the creative types. Creative people simply want more out of life than most. They really desire to find and develop their inner passion and make a living expressing it.
Entrepreneurs, musicians, film-makers, writers, producers, directors, artists, real estate investors, photographers, inventors, and stock pickers are a few good examples. The failure rate is high in all this professions, because there is no clear support system in place to guide people on their path to success.
In my search for happiness, I read the books of successful people before me. I started to learn their secrets. I began to recognize my strengths and weaknesses as a creative person. I learned that there are things that will make a person creative geniuses:
1) Maximize Focus
2) Minimize Resistance
3) Maximize Persistence
Creative people by nature are multi-talented. They tend to be good at different things the problem with juggling a variety of different skills is that it dilutes their focus.
If you concentrate all your energy on one thing that will give you a lot power which will make you really good at that thing. As the principle of 10,000 hours of practice says that you have to practice for 10,000 hours if you want to become a genius in it.
So for example you want to a really good writer you have write in you field for 10,000 hours if you do the calculation if work for 1hr in that given field it will take you 28 Years to become really good at it.
But if you focus all your energy on that single task for example you have 6 hours a day for practice of you skill and at place of doing several different things you focus all your energy on doing one and only one thing then your 10,000 hours will complete in 4 ½ years.
So focus all your time and energy on one and only one single task. You can read about the pricple of 10,ooo hours and many more different things in this great book By Gladwell Malcolm- Outliers, The Story Of Success
Most of people will not become creative genius because of resistance that they have created around us. The most common form of resistance people experience is debt, but resistance can also come in the form of emotional baggage, social pressure, or lack of confidence.
You have to use your power of focus to get rid of all of them you have to focus on what you can do today and focus on quantity and quality will follow.
The debt is a big problem you can solve this problem by creating a source of passive income that will get rid of your debt and will provide you with a constant source of income to support your passion even if it is not paying your bills right now.
Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.
So after reading that quote there is nothing I can think of that can explain the importance of persistence.
So in the end all you have to do is keep moving forward, and become unstoppable so that nothing can stop you from becoming a creative genius.
