Want to learn how to achieve almost every goal you set? This are three rules if you apply them when you setting your goals your chance for success will improve exponentially so here they are.

Goals Must Be Quantifiable

The goal that you make should be quantifiable. Which mean that you can measure your performance at end of week, month, and year in clear terms that you can understand? For example you made a goal to become rich that is a vague goal because you haven’t defined what you meant by rich. It cans mean $1000 at the end of the year or $1 billion but its not specific goal.

A more specific goal will be like this that I want to earn $100,000 by the end of this year. Now you can achieve your goal

Goals Must Have Time Limit

Having a time limit is very important in achievement of any goals as it gives us another measurement that there is specific duration in which we have to do the work that will focused our attention on what you need to do today to achieve the result you desire at the end for the week, month, year.

It improves our commitment to our goals so that we can focus all our resource to achievement of goal by that we will be in much better place than the person who do not have goal. Now the point arises that how can you combine the two principles that we learned for better planning and execution of your work.

So First we focus on the goal what we want to achieves i.e. you want to read a book for an examination that have 500 pages and you have 60 days to read it. So we will 500 / 60 = 8.3 or we can say that 9 pages a day. So if you focus on reading only 9 pages a day for next two months you will be able to read the full book before the end of two months.

Goals Must Not Be Too Large To Achieve In Short Period Of Time

What i mean by that is if your goal is too large for a given time frame you will not be able to achieve that goal. Let’s take the above example in which you have 9 pages a day to read so a person who has 5 min a page reading speed will need 9 * 5= 45 min of reading a day. But if he makes a goal to read 500 pages book in 10 days that will be equal to 50 pages a day.

Now time needed is 50 * 5 = 250 min or 4 hr 10 min so if that person don’t have 4 hr daily to read then this goal will not be achieved and then if it’s not achieved it make bad impression on the person that planning don’t work. And he will not plan in future.

The same can said about the money as if you are earning $ 100000 yearly on you should plan for earning $ 500000 yearly that will need a lot attitude change and thinking change in person to achieve it which is not impossible but a lot of work is needed to achieve that goal so if you don’t have that much time and discipline right now that you should focus on small goals first and then move forward.

Like you can focus on increasing your earning by 15% every year. It will be a great place to start.

Now you know this rules for setting better goals. So apply this principle when every you  set your goals this principles are universal it can be applied to anything health, finance etc.

How can we acquire power through self development? What kind of power that we can acquire with self development?

When we start on our journey of self development and having a more fulfilling life. You start to grow and increase your personally power. As your wisdom grow you become more strong. Small thing do not bother you anymore. You become powerful.

You will start to see changes in your life when you are in the process of self development you will have more energy and focus to complete your days work and have fun in life.

You need to develop a sense of well being and thinking positively when you are on the path of self development.

There are stages of self development. When you first start your journey you will see little or no change in yourself. A lot of work will only result in a little effect.

You have to give yourself the right to be wrong when you first start out. All you can do is have positive outlook and keep working on yourself.

Even a little work every day will have a compounding effect on your life and you not even believe the results that will come to you when you will have at the end of the year or two.

In your journey to personal power it is not important where you come from but the most important thing is were you what to go.

So set your target and keep working if you continue to take action in the right direction you will get to your destination.

What Will You Do If You Know That You Are Going To Die Today?

Think about it you never know when you are going to die even then you take your life for granted. There are lots of things that can happen to you.

While it can be difficult to figure out what matters most to us even when considering that we might die tomorrow, perhaps it’s easier to notice what matters least. If you knew you’d die tomorrow, what would’t you do? What activities would you definitely not include in your last 24 hours? Web surfing? TV? Email?Work? What people would you not spend even a moment of your last 24 hours with?

Make a list of all things that you thought of doing when the thought of dying come to your mind.

What do you want do?

  • Sleep under the stars.
  • Walk on beach with a loved one
  • Read a book
  • Laugh more
  • Go to Paris
  • Live in a foreign country
  • Complete a Ironman
  • Sleep on beach with nothing to do
  • Make new friends
  • Catch a fish with hand
  • Learn a new language
  • Watch rain
  • Become a minimalist
  • Travel the world
  • Meditate
  • Learn to fly a plan
  • Complete a childhood dream
  • Go to Disney land

This are some of things that I can think of make your own list at least 100 things you should keep a piece of paper and take that piece of paper everywhere you go.
Keep thinking of things that you want to do in your life. Keep writing it feel like you have get everything on paper do not edit your list before it is above 100. Just keep writing what ever come to your mind.

Now what are things that you don’t have on your list but do everyday even then you don’t have to do them like

  • Watching TV
  • Listen to other people talk about there problems
  • Surrounded by negative people
  • Worrying about things that might not happen
  • Getting depressed
  • Not feeling good about yourself
  • Living in the future

You will make a list of all this things also that you do not want to do but do them anyways.
It may be hard to imagine that you can die anytime but we all know that it is the truth. So please give your self a favorite and do what you love to every day. Even if you cannot devote a lot of time to that activity you give 1 hour or 30 min.

Always remember that you can die any day so live your life today.

So how can we do more of the things that we love?

To do more of things that we love we first have to know what you love. If you have followed the above instructions then you have two list one of things that you want to do and another of things that you don’t like to do.

Now what you have do is underline the things on the list that you have of things that you do not like that you can eliminate now.

For example watching too much TV and take anything from the list that you want to do replace it like meditation.

So for next 21 days you will meditate when you would normally watch TV.

After 21 days of doing that it doesn’t matter if you fail to do it one or more time in those 21 day give yourself a break. When you learn something new you are going to fail some time so don’t be so hard on yourself and except that it is not a perfect world and you are not perfect.

Have A Media Fast

What do I mean by having a media fast? I want you for one day do not use any media outlet at all. Like the newspaper, internet, TV, magazine etc.
For one day you will do not use any media outlet at all.

 

Why are we doing this?

Media just overload our mind with useless information about things that have no or very less impact on us.
You think that you need to know everything what is going in this world but you don’t. So to prove a point let us try a one day media fast where you will not use any type of media at all.
Do not watch anything for 1 day.

No TV, no internet and not even the print media.

Do other things instead

  • Go for a walk with your family
  • Read your kids a story
  • Read a joke book
  • Clean your home
  • Think what are things that are important to you
  • Meditate
  • Sleep
  • Exercise
  • Make a healthy meal
  • Eat for a hour and chew properly

After the end of ask yourself

Do you think that anything important is missed?

If you think that you have missed anything important that think about the implication that news will have on you. Most of the time it will very less.

How do you feel?
Do feel relieved, light and have a free mind.

Now how do you feel now do you feel that it is good idea that you should cut you media time in your daily life.

How can do it for long term?

  • Start small cut one media at a time.
  • Read news on online paper and set timer for 15 min when up close the paper.
  • Get rid of your TV.
  • Reduce your internet plan.

So what you think will happen when you reduce you time on media and devote that time for personal development.
